Servants Of Chaos – Spotlight: ARCHGOAT
On Saturday October 19th legendary Finnish horde ARCHGOAT will headline Servants of Chaos festival, unleashing their signature Angelslaying Black Metal. Where others evolved and tempered their sound, ARCHGOAT have remained steadfastly true to the evil inherent in formative Black Metal, and promise a brutally devastating performance.
Founded in 1989 by twin brothers Ritual Butcherer and Lord Angelslayer, ARCHGOAT initially released a pair of crushing demo tapes before unleashing their now-legendary 1993 debut EP, "Angelcunt (Tales Of Desecration)" - a savagely dark fusion of Black and Death Metal.
After a brief disappearance from the scene, ARCHGOAT returned in 2004 with full force, releasing debut album "Whore Of Bethlehem" in 2006. Since then, the band has not wavered in their uncompromising ethos, releasing four subsequent albums of ferocious intensity under the Debemur Morti banner ("The Light-Devouring Darkness", "The Apocalyptic Triumphator", "The Luciferian Crown" and most recently 2021's "Worship The Eternal Darkness"), alongside a slew of demonic EPs and split releases.
Renowned for formidable live performances, ARCHGOAT have taken their barbaric sound worldwide, pulverising stages across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. The 2020 live album, "Black Mass XXX", released to commemorate the band's 30th anniversary, perfectly captures their live ferocity. Listen here:
ARCHGOAT’s most recent releases, 2021's "Worship the Eternal Darkness" and 2022's "All Christianity Ends" EP, continued to earn praise from fans and critics alike, and show a band still operating at peak powers:
