MODERN RITES premiere 'Becoming'

MODERN RITES use raw intensity to fuse Industrial music, Black Metal and atmospheric soundscapes. 'Becoming', the second single from upcoming new album "Endless", finds the duo of Berg (AARA) and Jonny Warren (KUYASHII) masterfully combining ferocious riffs with haunting melodies in a captivating and emotive exploration of existential despair.

Jonny Warren describes the genesis of 'Becoming':

"For this track, we wanted to really build on the Industrial foundations that inspired our sound. The song started with a repetitive drum machine rhythm that is heard in the intro. This created a solid base for layering synth, bass, and guitars that crescendos into one of our most industrial-focused tracks to date. With the concept of cycles in mind, the initial drum rhythm is carried throughout the track to drive the tension and repose between uniform riffs and airy, melodic synth passages.

Tying into the theme of ideological conflict throughout the album, 'Becoming' is about the seeds of ignorance sown by oppressive forces that grow and spread over time. Subjugation leads to violent revelry in a repetition of forgotten histories and truths. Culminating with the inevitable self-destruction of the revelers, the song ends with a new beginning of an end."
