Servants Of Chaos - Spotlight: Throane

On October 18th, composer and visual artist Dehn Sora (CHURCH OF RA, TREHA SATORI) will present a new interpretation of his compositions as THROANE live at Servants of Chaos festival.

THROANE emerged from an instinctive drive to reflect on and deconstruct life's often-bitter experiences. Born as a form of exorcism, it delves into deeply personal themes, offering an intimate glimpse into the artist's mind and soul.

Across two albums, "Derrière-nous, la lumière" (2016) and "Plus une main à mordre" (2017), Dehn Sora has woven a unique blend of Doom, Post-Black Metal, Post-Hardcore, and dark Industrial. His music paints a stark picture of a world in decay: crumbling industry, fractured lives, divided societies, isolation and scarcity.

In his latest work, the 7" EP "Une balle dans le pied", Sora unites his inspirations into a monumental 13-minute track – a brutal fusion of nightmarish Black Metal, wall-of-sound Doom, Industrial, Noise, and Dark Ambient, reshaped into a shadowy chimera of savage beauty.

THROANE is renowned for channelling ferocious intensity into its rare live performances. For Servants of Chaos, Dehn Sora will turn necessity into virtue. Due to unforeseen circumstances, THROANE will not perform as a full live band. Instead, to ensure a unique experience, Sora will present an exclusive solo set of tracks reworked into a more ritualistic and Industrial form.

Dehn Sora states:

"As THROANE is a project that tends to explore, experiment, and works as a mirror of the solitary experience that writing THROANE's music is, the solo live performance presents re-arranged tracks from the discography in a meditative yet suffocating shape. Industrial crushing beats and soundscapes will work as core elements from which whole new universes are created, never presented in public before."
