Artists
As a celebration of Debemur Morti Productions' 20th anniversary, three remarkable French artists came together in 2023 to form the collective known as EITRIN. Vindsval (BLUT AUS NORD), Dehn Sora (THROANE), and Marion (MÜTTERLEIN) fused their creativity to produce a captivating and enigmatic sound that defies genre, blending elements of Black Metal, Industrial, post-Punk, Hardcore, and Dark Ambient.
The collaboration resulted in the acclaimed self-titled debut album, "Eitrin". Composed and recorded in a brief yet intense period, this instinctive work puts Marion's fervent vocals at the forefront, enhanced by Vindsval's signature cold melodies and Sora's haunting atmospheres.

On October 18th at DMP's inaugural Servants of Chaos festival, Dehn Sora and Marion will unite to bring EITRIN to life in a debut live performance. Do not miss this singular event.
We spoke with Marion and Dehn Sora about the upcoming performance:
Q: Thank you both for giving your valuable time to this interview! At Servants of Chaos, you will perform the first and perhaps only EITRIN gig. How have you prepared yourself to perform these songs?
Dehn Sora: It's a lot of homework, and instrumental sessions to find the right feeling of playing the songs live. As usual with studio only projects, there's a part of reinterpretation to get the spirit of the songs right. But the process of rehearsal is working fine.
Q: You are both used to performing and playing together in different contexts and band constellations. Has it been easy for you to bring EITRIN to life? Or is some coordination and harmonization required between you?
DS: We have known each other for many years, both as human being and musicians, so I'd say harmonization is something that we created over the years. When we talked about playing the show for the festival, I immediately thought about Olivier who plays with me live in THROANE. The reason for that is that I know that the connection is already there, and he loves the album. So, I would say, I never had a thought that the chemistry between us couldn't work out.
Marion: The songs are already written, so what we need to find is the right chemistry and the perfect balance for the live performance. I'm very confident because I'm used to playing together with Dehn Sora and we know each other very well, and the others are excellent musicians.
Q: To add to that: what is the greatest challenge when performing the EITRIN songs live? Which parts/elements require most work to get them gig-ready?
DS: Playing riffs you did not record nor write is a challenge. So, you have to work on the right way of playing these songs, delve into them, to get the mindset right. With a few riffs it was also challenging to get the same feeling as you can hear on the album's version. I also worked on the guitar tone, to get my own reinterpretation, but to also pay tribute to the album's production.
M: That's right, I have the easiest role in this situation, I just have to learn my part.
Q: What can the audience expect from the EITRIN live show? Will you play the whole album? Will there be a special visual show or similar?
DS: I am preparing something visually, but I won't tell much!
Q: When you look back at when the "Eitrin" album was created, which memories are most vivid in your mind? Which associations and emotions come up first?
DS: I remember when I recorded my vocals parts. It had been a while since I was screaming in a mic for many hours before that recording session. And it felt great. It's always a liberating process.
M: What I remember most is the pleasure of singing in a slightly different, more direct style. It's always nice to push the boundaries of your comfort zone a little.
Q: Last question: you are both also performing with your projects MÜTTERLEIN and THROANE at the festival. Will we also see you guesting with each other's bands onstage?
Dehn Sora: Who knows!
M: Who knows?
