'Sciomancy and Sortilege' captures the otherworldly atmospheric power of PESTILENT HEX, whose members are also known from acts such as DESOLATE SHRINE, CORPSESSED and PROFETUS. The track masterfully blends symphonic grandeur, relentless blast beats and tremolo-picked riffs, while fierce vocals evoke visions of arcane rituals. The single offers a chilling glimpse into the album's mystical soundscapes, achieving a striking harmony between beauty and savagery.

PESTILENT HEX reflect on 'Sciomancy and Sortilege':

"We wanted to have a triumphant and energetic beginning for the album that would also introduce the tone properly. The song was written in a short time span and the whole flow is very much the same as it was in its birthing process. The first riff you hear is the first riff we wrote. We really wanted to see where a riff or melody takes us next and let that be the guiding principle. So, in the end 'Sciomancy and Sortilege' shaped up as a multi-faceted journey from the victorious and grandiose place, if you will, through the portal into the land of darkness and death. Usually, we like to have call-backs to previous parts of a song but this time it is a one-way trip.

Staying true to the album theme, 'Sciomancy and Sortilege' is the first track after the introduction ('Nocturne', which sets the listener onto a voyage into the nightside) where we plunge into the Sorcery of the Shadows, or Sciomancy - drawing divination from the crawling shades of which source is the internal fire of the observer, peering at visions of the nether through the flames in necromantic communion. This theme carries through the whole album."
